Why do chefs care about budget cooking?

Okay, I'm not a chef I'm a cook but I'm under the impression that chefs don't actually care about making food taste good or being within most people's budgets as much as they care about getting paid, getting their food right, and the aesthetic appeal of their dishes.<br><br>Why, then, do they all care about budget cooking?
