Why do I mistakenly call people the wrong names in real life but not in video games?

I’m guilty as hell. I called my bf the dog’s name yesterday. In front of my family. The whole “I’m tired” excuse doesn’t work anymore. I forget names of actors, characters, etc. But, in video games, I can recall stupid stuff from years ago. Examples:

*My bf and I played WoW together years ago. I was a mage and always chose a gnome. On my bf’s main, I recall his name, his toons, everything.
*In another game, I could always recall my bf’s “gamer tags,” how many characters he had, etc. I can’t tell you what he ate for breakfast yesterday
*My bf doesn’t understand how I can recall that one time that one thing happened but can’t recall his favorite food

I have a good memory overall, but for the past few years, it’s like names just fly away from me. Is this the simulation?
