I'm tired of these ads for cancer treatments... they seem fake

I’ve been seeing these commercials for a treatment for uterine cancer. It’s called Orbactiv which is actually an antibiotic for something else. I can’t find any info anywhere that they’ve been testing it for cancer. It seems fake. But why would they bother with that? Do they get paid for these commercial and are trying to scam for a short period of time before anyone finds out?
