I am not against all AI, but now I completely understand why some people are.

I don't think I am in the same boat as some people here who reject all AI, and I don't completely agree with some of the strawman take downs of AI. For instance, I don't think that AI should not be allowed to help people with disabilities. That seems cruel.

I've always kind of been on the fence about AI and thought it had both positive and negative uses, but I've been using ChatGPT since it came out as part of my job and I'm completely disillusioned with it at this point. It is complete garbage. The vast majority of the time, it gives me completely wrong information. It makes my job so much harder because I have to go through and clean and fact check all of its mistakes.

Sometimes it doesn't even make grammatical sense.

The company that I work for is considering completely replacing human writers with ChatGPT because it is so cheap. But it's honestly just a complete waste of time and money at this point. I can't completely articulate why, but it just doesn't feel like it is even trying anymore either. I've had it spout complete nonsense at me on several occasions in the past month or so. Whatever they're doing to it is just making it worse.

I'm glad because this is a good excuse to hone my skills. But I will probably be out of a job and I will never use these tools again.
