Important to start that I work as a digital project manager in the construction industry and I spend most of my time writing emails, reports, and I work 12-15 hour days, 7 days a week so I don’t bitter taste lies more in the idea and future of it.

I got the premium account and it’s fantastic. I was in a meeting, had an action item to write a very long email to a customer and I did it in half the time and with much higher quality. I 100% recommend it and I love it.

The bitter taste for me is not the idea of this AI but the future in which kids don’t need to learn how to write, or college students don’t need to write papers anymore or with a few clicks, I can write higher quality emails than [most] people.

We have 4 kids in school and they are studying in class, teacher assigns an essay or report and a good amount of kids are going to just let chatgpt write it for them with very little to no effort.

This makes me sad as a person that loves learning and as a parent to 4 kids. The education systems are putting out students that don’t read, write properly, or spell properly as is and now you will have a large amount of them not able to even do that.

But the answer isn’t to get rid of it, it’s for the education system to find ways to use this better and teach kids how to use it better.

That’s my 2 cents.
