Hello everyone, I am an infantry veteran and an NRA firearms instructor in the United States. I also work with a wonderful non-profit who has given me the opportunity to talk to thousands of children, and parents, about firearms safety, and why it's so important to teach children about firearms.

The courses I teach are free, and usually last anywhere from one to three hours.

During the course, we talk about how to identify a firearm, and the proper steps to take when handling, or finding a firearm.

For those who don't know, the NRA has a program called "Eddie Eagle," which could not be any simpler.

Stop
Don't Touch
Run Away
Find An Adult
Call The Police

These steps are so simple that small children can remember them, and can hopefully get out of a situation where their lives may be at risk.

I've had parents come up to me, after a course, in tears because their child knew exactly what to do during a simulation we run during the course, where a prop firearm is placed out in the open.

The child in question had previously been taught by parents about firearms, but after taking my course, they put what they learned into action during the simulation, and the parent was overwhelmed with joy that their child knew exactly what to do.

I've taught nearly 2,000 children so far, including some who have disabilities, and special needs.

If you have children yourself, consider talking to them about firearms. If someone breaks into your house, and there is a firearm out in the open, and your child knows what to do, it may be the difference between life, and death.

If you have any questions, or concerns, feel free to PM me, or comment below.

Thank you, and stay safe.
