How do people afford everything they need in this country with expenses so high now?

I am a single mother of a 2 years old, I work multiple jobs to make ends meet, I don’t even earn 40,000 a year and I work 7 days a week. No matter how hard I work I am living paycheck to paycheck. My income tax is higher than my earnings with expenses deducted. It just doesn’t add up. I work so much I barely get to see my child. How do other families with children make ends meet?
