About the recent threat of doxxing users of this chamber

**TL;DR**: After the end of August, the person who threatened to doxx users of this chamber will no longer have access to information that could be used to doxx or harass you. They have only been able to access this information because of volunteering with our mod team. We take full responsibility for not foreseeing this and apologize for the stress and discomfort this has caused you. <br><br>We've been made aware that there are threats going around to doxx users of this subreddit. Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to give us a heads up about this. <br><br>We wanted to personally address this threat because it comes from one of our moderators. If you are or have been a regular here, you may have noticed we've had less active moderators in recent weeks. We've been in the process of dealing with this behind the scenes. <br><br>The person who has made these threats was a moderator for about a year. They were given access to user information, such as history of comments and posts, to be able to find and remove trolls as quickly as possible. We did not realize they had such malicious intentions until a few weeks ago when they began threatening to dox users of this subreddit. <br><br>We take full responsibility for not seeing this coming. We were blinded by their involvement in the chamber and did not see their true sexist and patriarchal beliefs. We should have vetted them more carefully. <br><br>We removed their moderator permissions as soon as we were made aware of their threats. Unfortunately, they will continue to have access to user information until the end of August when the trial period of our mod tool ends. They will no longer have access to information that could be used to dox or harass you after August is over. <br><br>We understand this is an empty reassurance until August is over and the threat has passed. We again apologize for the threat this person has made. We know that doxxing is a very real fear for many of you and we should not have put any of you in this position.
