I posted my story up in May and it has gained over 840k reads and has been favorited over 22k times and has over 50k votes. I am so overwhelmingly happy with this, however, I do not feel as though my story is popular whatsoever.

First, the story is posted on wattpad. I know a lot of people have their views on wattpad, but honestly, I find it to be a great community. It's a good alternative to AO3, as you can interact with readers and vice versa.

I have many stories posted on my wattpad account. I am someone who writes multiple things at a time. Lately, I have been publishing more short stories and have a few novels in the works. Most of my short stories are nowhere near as popular as my one story. It's only had 34 chapters published so far, but I have many more chapters written and more in the works.

I'm not really sure what I'm doing right. I don't really post on social media that much about the story and I'm not really consistent when it comes to interacting with other readers.

I know I've got a long way to go as a writer and I'm going to take classes next year to better myself. But I'm genuinely confused and I guess a little worried. I'm not sure what I'm doing right, so I don't want to mess anything up.

I guess I'm just wondering how do you deal with a story doing well? Do you use this as motivation for the rest of your stories or work? How do you keep up with the interaction with readers?
