This is a bit of a throwaway as I don't want my family members seeing this on my main if they decide to browse Reddit. It's also a rehearsed post as I can't post from my phone so excuse the length.

I'm a 20 year old male with crohn's disease. I'm also very underweight and have been diagnosed with arfid, which can function a lot like an eating disorder. Suffice to say it's been hard to gain weight for me.

So obviously food is a big thing for me, and I can't stand people making remarks on my eating habits.

So my family was going to go to a chain diner for some food. As I was getting ready my sister kept pulling out foods she thought I would like from the fridge and saying things like "Oh you'll probably like this" or "Could you eat this?". Now, I know she was just trying to be nice, but I just don't like people trying to get me to eat. It's the same reason why I hate diet culture, it's just very invalidating to my condition and i feel judged for not meeting unrealistic beauty standards.

But I digress, as we're all in the car my sister says "Oh yeah, I'm definitely not getting dessert" in this really obnoxious tone.

She's talking about me, because I always get dessert at diners as I can always tolerate sugars but I get full really easily.

At this point I'm just fed up, so I tell her to be up with that shit and that it's not funny to make jokes about peoples disorders and eating habits.

She just goes straight to my parents on this and they tell me I was being a dick and that I need to get over myself.

I just think that if I was in her position I wouldn't make jokes about her conditions. So AITA?
