What is the point of transhumanism if we could eventually just merge our minds with the mass computer network?

I really can’t see the point of investing billions in developing human prosthetics that are transhumanist in nature that should be made available to the public if we could just merge our minds into advanced computer networks. I really can’t see the point in investing billions in developing transhumanist prosthetic limbs, transhumanist optometry, transhumanist hearing aids such as earmuffs that can translate different languages in real time. If we could just merge into a mass network, we would just have to simply delete our physical bodies that should be made available to the public. <br><br>What is the point of investing billions in developing human prosthetics such as amputation prosthetics, brain prosthetics etc. if we could just simply merge our minds into a mass network. I could imagine this technology could be viable and cost effective. The only people who would get their bodies amputated and get hybridized would be those who are handicapped, or those who suffered from an injury. But those who do not suffer handicaps or suffered a major injury should just get their bodies amputated and have their minds merged into a mass network.
