Why are you meal prepping?

I'm a 19 yo male, I'm 5'10" 156 lbs. I don't think I need meal prep, I'm trying to meal prep because everyone around me seems to know the benefits of meal prep and I am confused. <br><br>I'm not trying to lose weight or gain weight, I don't have time constraints and my diet is not so consistent. I'm pretty sure that I don't have a weight issue (in fact I have 25% body fat). I definitely heard about meal prep from fitness people with fitness goals, but why are average people with no fitness goals meal prepping? <br><br>Can anyone help me understand what's the deal about meal prep?
