What’s the deal with these obnoxious “my favorite anime is [insert anime name]!”

Why do I see this so much on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok? It’s usually a girl with an anime profile picture (the non-anime profile picture is usually hot too) saying how their favorite anime is Attack on Titan or Bleach. No clue if it’s a bot or just a bunch of people trying to get anime nerds to agree with them and message them.<br><br>I’m not even someone who posts about anime, I’m just not into it. But why do I see it so much? And why are they a profile picture of a character, then have some random pic of a girl in the background? I’m confused.<br><br>They’re not even wrong, I like both animes. But I just wonder who makes this stuff? And what’s the end goal? Is it just a bunch of people who want to bring anime fans together?
