How many of you would just let your kids openly walk in a room with a loaded firearm?

So I'm 22 and at an age where I'm married and have kids, but the first time I got a firearm I was only about 10. It took my father all of my childhood and teenage years to teach me how to safely operate it. My children also got their first gun at the age of 10, so now I'm teaching them.

My children are now 14 and 15 years old, and I trust them to safely use the firearms in our home. Its ready with a round in the chamber for if someone ever were to enter our home. However, we make sure to safely keep the firearms away from our children until they are mature enough to operate them.

However, I got some family visiting from Texas this week. They are also very pro guns. They didn't bring their kids, but they were surprised and even a little angry that I keep the firearms out of the reach of my children. They told me that their kids openly carry in Texas and that the gun is a part of them and that they must feel comfortable with it. I don't know if this is the Texan way or not, but I do not feel comfortable letting my children openly walk around the room with a loaded firearm.

Edit: I did not expect this post to get popular. I wrote this post in 5 minutes, and as you can see it was not well written. I apologize for any confusion. My English is not great as it is not my first language.

Edit 2: I feel this post has ben misunderstood by many. The point I was trying to get across is how you would feel about a minor openly carrying in a house with strangers. So lets pretend this is your house, you had 2 adult guests who you didnt know very well. You also had 2 kids who you trusted with guns, but you were still concerned. Then all of the sudden you hear the doorbell ring and at the door were 2 more adults you didnt know well. You find out they are friends of the guests and have come in. Now imagine you have 2 minors walking around openly carrying. How would you react.
