What are your tips for staying safe as a solo female traveler?

I’m 25 years old and have been saving up to travel for a bit. I’m finally in a position where I can travel abroad without going into debt. I would prefer to travel alone because I feel like I can do what I want without being stuck to someone else’s itinerary or compromise on what I want to do and see. However, I am a little anxious about safety. I’m a female and I just know that I would be an easy target for someone to steal from or worse. I plan on traveling to several countries in Europe. I would really appreciate any tips on how to stay safe as a solo female traveler.
