The gym 3x per week is sucking the life out of me

I've always been a flexible worker that worked best on my own schedule. When once told to come to work at 6am I showed up at noon and the boss did not fight it and I was still able to do my work and get paid to do it. I used to do work-out routines at home and felt great. I was able to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it and my quality of life was very good, I had tons of free time to do anything I wanted and the work-life balance was great.

Now, I'm forced to attend the gym 3x per week by my employer. It's sucking the life out of me. The gym is a shithole and the people there are annoying and once I'm there I have to spend that time there, no matter what. I've had to cancel plans with friends on numerous occasions and have to leave home at 4am in the morning and won't be done until 8 or 9pm. This is absolutely ridiculous. I hate that I have to do gym that I don't even want to do that is sucking out every last bit of time I have to spend with friends and I gain nothing. I am on the verge of quitting because of it. I used to do work-out routines at home, but that just doesn't seem to cut it anymore for whatever reason. I am absolutely fed up with having to go to the gym 3x per week for work. I don't want to go anymore. I'm about to walk out the door right now and go to the gym and spend my next 4 hours there.
