Just got off a flight and saw the craziest thing ever.

I’m a 19 year old crew member working for a NA airline flying B777’s (they taxi themselves) so to keep myself awake I usually sit in first class in one of the open seats on the downtime. <br><br>I usually sit in 1K because the seat table is huge and I can comfortably lay down.<br><br>Today on my flight from Europe I decide to sit in 2K instead because I like the window. I’m about to fall asleep when I get woken up by a big hit. I look up to see a cup of soda hit my shoulder. I looked up to see the guy in 1K throw his hand over his mouth and apologize because he was startled. I told him it was alright and then to make things a little lighter I said you owe me a soda. <br><br>He laughs and then orders me a drink. Then we start talking. <br><br>He’s telling me where he’s from and I’m telling him where I’m from. He’s asking me where I’m going next and I’m asking him about the same. We’re talking for about 20 mins when we really start to connect. He’s asking me about flying and I’m telling him how it is. Then he asks me if I smoke weed at all. I say yes I do. He says well you’re gonna be my new friend. <br><br>He pulls out a grinder and a baggy of weed. Then he pulls out a ball point pen and starts to hollow out. After about 10 mins he finishes his makeshift blunt and then lights it. <br><br>I’m sitting in 2K and hes in 1K so it’s not like we’re really that close. Plus we’re both wearing masks so it’s not like you can smell it. I have to say it smelled really good. <br><br>He smokes the whole thing and at this point we’re passing over Greenland. He finishes the blunt and then orders a whole bottle of red wine. I’m still wide awake at this point but he’s lighting up another blunt. <br><br>I go to the bathroom and come out and all the lights in first class are off. I turn mine on and then he turns on his and then he’s sleeping. <br><br>Everyone goes to sleep so I go back to my seat and start to fall asleep myself. Finally about 3 hours later I fall asleep. <br><br>I get woken up by my senior saying it’s time to start setting up for meal service. I go back to first class to start setting up and the guy in 1K is completely passed out. <br><br>We finish all our meal service in first and then I go over to him to wake him up. <br><br>He’s still asleep. I’m shaking him and he’s just groggy. I say sir you need to wake up to eat. Then he says yeah yeah I’m awake. <br><br>He orders his meal. I give it to him and he’s just staring at the wall. I saw him drink his whole bottle of wine. Plus smoke at least 2 blunts. <br><br>He starts eating his food and then he looks at me and says. <br><br>Hi I’m Marc. I lost my fiancé of 17 years 2 months ago. Today’s the day we met 17 years ago. She was supposed to come with me on this trip. We’re buying a house in Australia. <br><br>I started to cry a little. What a fucking legend. I told him my condolences. I then told him that this is my first time flying in a month. I was supposed to fly about 3 weeks ago and the day before my trip I received a call from crew scheduling saying that my dad was in a car crash and was in critical condition. <br><br>Luckily he’s alright. But for the past 3 weeks I’ve been with him at the hospital. He’s finally back home so I decided it was time to get back to flying. <br><br>Marc and I talked until we landed. We exchanged numbers and I told him for him to text me whenever he needs anything. <br><br>I hope I see him again one day. <br><br>Edit I feel bad for everyone who got downvoted in the comments.
