I'm concerned about the perspective on AI here

Since I've started coming to this chamber, most of the time I find my perspective to be very different from what the common consensus is. I thought that this would be a place to have a good discussion about the ethics of AI and how we should approach it, but I don't see that at all.

From what I've observed, it seems that the majority of users here are antitech luddites that want to live in the past. I don't think developing an ability to automate basically anything that humans can do with tremendous speed, precision, and scalability should be taken lightly at all. I think that requires a tremendous amount of discussion and also an understanding of how to approach it.

I don't think we can put the genie back in the bottle. I don't think its feasible to just stop developing AI. Big tech companies (like Google) have basically invested themselves entirely into AI at this point. They see AI as a main source of profit and won't give it up.

I don't think this is the end of humanity. I think we're humans and we've developed a new thing. I think we should approach this with caution, but I don't think it's the end of the world.

Also, I'm not someone who thinks AI is better than humans. I think AI has its place and humans have their place. I don't want to be replaced by a machine or a robot. I think there's things that humans are best at and other things that machines are best at and we need to learn to live together.

I'm a musician and I think AI is basically ruining any creative field. There's too much noise right now. Too many people are trying to screw over others. Too much greed everywhere. I don't think this is a viable way to live. I think we need to come to some kind of agreement as to how we should approach these things.
