My new wife's old boyfriend gave her a fat-shaming nickname that I love.

I (M/32) met my wife (F/28) 4 years ago and we just got married last month. During that time, I learned that she had a boyfriend for a couple of years from age 19-21. They parted ways amicably cause the boyfriend wanted to stay in their home state and my wife wanted to move to a bigger city for a job opportunity.

She lives in the city I grew up in, so after she moved here she ran into her old boyfriend a few times and they were friendly. A couple of years before we met she posted on Facebook that she was going on a diet. The old boyfriend made a joke that she should go on a "fat diet" (meaning that she's already fat, but should eat more) and it became a recurring joke between them. She told me about it a year into our relationship and whenever she would tell me about her progress with her diet, I'd jokingly tell her to go on a fat diet instead.

A couple of weeks after we got married, she told me that she was going on a diet and I gave her my usual fat diet line and said that a fat husband deserves a fat wife. She loved it and ever since then she's been calling herself my fat wife and making jokes about how much she loves being my fat wife. I'm so happy that she loves the nickname because she seems so much more confident with her weight now.

Edit 1: I'm a chubby guy myself and both of us are working on our health. We go to the gym together and try to eat healthier.

Edit 2: The reason I like her old BF is that they parted as friends and she told me that he reacted well to our relationship. I know that part of the reason she likes this nickname is that she feels like she's won and beaten her old BF. That's not something that I told her how to feel, but something I believe she feels deep down. I don't know why this is relevant, but I guess I felt like I should mention it.

Edit 3: We're both under 300 pounds. I don't think I'm doing anyone a favor by being specific about our weights, so that's all I'm gonna say.

Edit 4: I know that there are a lot of people who don't like this type of post. To quote Trololo, " if you don't like the cut of my gib, I encourage you to go into the nearby forrest and [redacted]." Please stay polite and don't prey on the newer posters.
