im not pro kratom or anything, i think people over use it and its a drug that people use problematically all the time, but like the math for how it should be banned isn't making sense to me.

the only problem i can see kratom causing is dependency, problematically for sure, but im not aware of any functioning kratom addicts, i dont see people robbing liquor stores to buy kratom three times a day.

kratom is like 1.4 illegal deaths per year, thats like the math they use for xanax right? but its also only estimated that 0.2% of the population uses, this is like 600,000 people, with literally 1.4 deaths a year.

the three active substances in kratom are also all in the human brain naturally, this is also the only opiate available that is not addictive to animals, meaning that when offered a choice between food and a kratom pellet, the animals will choose food, proving mathematically that kratom doesn't have the addictive qualities of other drugs like heroin and cocaine.

im only seeing upside here, am i missing something?

kratom illegal since 2016, math hasnt changed since then

*edit, i am not trying to defend kratom, i am trying to have an honest discussion
