I don't understand how people can't love dogs.

I have a hard time understanding how people can't love dogs. I also have a hard time understanding raising children for the purpose of an emotional connection since I've received love and affection from my dog that I've never received from a human. I can't even imagine raising an animal or person that is incapable of loving you.
