My [36m] wife [34f] keeps tying my boots after I've told her to keep her hands off of them. I tried to teach her a lesson and really hurt her feelings.

Yes, I know the title is strange. Here's what's happening. <br><br>My wife has this habit of tying my boots after I'm done with them. I've always detested this habit because it makes it harder for me to put them on the next day since they aren't set to my foot's shape. I've asked her multiple times to stop, she always says she won't but then she still does it. I've asked her to please stop because this actually makes things more difficult for me. She still does it. I bring it up every chance I get because f***ing around with my boots is really irritating. <br><br>So, I got fed up and decided I'd play a prank on her and teach her a lesson. I untied my boots one night before bed, and the next morning when she went to put them on, they were untied. She fell and scathed her knee. I felt like an absolute shitheel, not because I think she's too delicate to take a prank, but I really hurt her feelings. I have never played a prank on her before, I think she's just really pissed I got her back for something that she has done so many times. She's not the type to play jokes, so this was out of character and I can see why she's upset. Not upset with me, just hurt that I would play a joke on her and get her back for something so minor. She's expecting an apology from me. <br><br>What the hell do I do? This is so stupid. I feel like I'm wrong, because I don't think she was trying to be malicious. Is it my fault for getting her back? I don't feel like I'm in the wrong here, but I also don't want to hurt my wife's feelings.
