The new election maps do give Democrats a better shot at election victories, but Alito is still going to make them fund lower-income districts equally, and that may end up causing them to lose more seats still

This isn't being discussed enough. We've had maps released in Alabama and Georgia. It looks like election maps are going to get a lot fairer this cycle. But remember that Alito ruled that election districts could not have different levels of government funding. Democrats will have to raise election funding in areas where election turnout is higher. But if they have to raise funding across the board, that doesn't necessarily mean those areas will benefit from the increase in funding.
