CMV: I'm embarrased to be American

Throwaway account due to being an 18 year old. I'm just ashamed to be American because of the recent election.<br><br>The two candidates were Trump, a man who's the most polarizing man I've ever heard of, and Clinton, who's a war hawk that has terrible policies. These were the choices we were given to be our leader for the next 4 years. Clinton would lead us to war at the drop of a hat, and Trump's just, well, Trump. The fact that these two are the only people America trusts to be our two candidates is embarrasing.<br><br>I can't be the only one embarrased to be American, I can't imagine a day when America is going to be remembered as anything other than a joke, I'm ashamed to be American. Being American, in my mind, means that no matter what happens to the country, you stay loyal. I two candidates that were given to us were abhorrent, and the fact that we voted for either one of them is a terrible day for America.<br><br>I'm ashamed to be an American. I won't let it change who I am, I won't let it change my life, but I am ashamed to be American.
