What is the nature of truth in this world of mis/disinformation?

Subreddit appearances on r/philosophy tend to get bogged down in the familiar debate of objective vs. subjective truth, which isn't really helpful in this context. Given that there are so many ideologies with their own "versions" of truth, what does one have to believe in order to have a rational understanding of the world? Moreover, how do we navigate a political media landscape and find out what is true and what is not?

**EDIT**: Holy shit. Thank you all for the upvotes and attention! I'll try to cover some of the replies since I can't reply to everyone. Please keep in mind that I'm still in highschool and relatively new to philosophy, so bear with me.

1. A few people recommended that I just go out and experience things myself and rely on my senses. That's all well and good, but what reasons do I have to rely on my senses as the source of truth? Most of the time, I don't have the resources or the means to personally experience an event or to see it for myself. I have to depend on what the news tells me. What's to stop my senses from perceiving reality incorrectly? How can I be certain that my senses are true?

2. A lot of people recommended critical thinking and reading as habits that are crucial to navigating the world. I agree with this. But what if we don't know that critical thinking is true to begin with? What reasons do we have to believe that critical thinking will allow us to come closer to the truth? Maybe we're just fooling ourselves. How can we be certain that our thoughts and perceptions of the world are true, particularly in this age where media perceives truth in different ways and we're left in the dust?

3. A few people had the unhelpful response of "well that's your opinion." That's not helpful. I'm trying to navigate this complex world of race and politics and differences of opinion, and I just want to know what's true because I don't know what to believe anymore. What reasons do I have to believe in the infallibility of my own opinion? How can I be certain that my own opinions are true?

I'm not trying to start a debate over objective vs. subjective truth again. I'm genuinely looking for reasons to believe in an ideology or a system of beliefs. I don't know what to believe.
