Technology company says job cuts would amount to less than 5% of its workforce<br><br>Microsoft Corp said it would cut 10,000 jobs and take a $1.2 billion charge as it faces "significant" economic uncertainty.<br><br>"Today, I’m sharing that we’ll be reducing our workforce by 10,000 jobs through the end of FY23, almost 5% of total full-time Microsoft red and ~.5% of our total workforce including contractors," CEO Satya Nadella said in a statement.<br><br>The reductions would result in a severance charge of about $1.2 billion.<br><br>The company also announced the layoffs in a regulatory filing, saying cuts would be completed by the end of March.<br><br>Microsoft is undergoing a strategic review of its operations and will continue to hire in strategic areas, the company said.<br><br>**REUTERS**
