AITA for taking my gf to court

So my gf and I had been dating for 2 years. We live together in an apartment I rent. It is my name and only my name on the lease.

I bought her a Mac to use for her school studies. She still works at a fast food joint but I make more than enough money that I am comfortable buying her stuff I don't want her to have to worry about and can afford to spoil her.

Anyway, I had an issue where she kept borrowing my laptop to help with her school work. I had to have a talk with her about how I have work stuff on it and don't need her to accidentally delete anything. She also borrowed my car one time to go to the store and got into an accident that caused $500 in damages.

So when I bought the Mac, I wrote up a little contract that said something to the effect of "This is mine. If we break up and you don't return it, I will take you to court to get paid for it." She was a little pissed I did that but she did sign it.

We broke up a month ago and she took the Mac with her. I texted her and said I wanted it back. She said I was being too controlling and living in the past.

I told her that she was legally required to return it but she didn't answer after that. I gave her a week and then I filed a suit in small claims.

Last week was our hearing and the judge ruled in my favor. He said she had no reason to not return it and she hadn't paid for it. He gave her 6 weeks to get me the money.

Her mom called me a few days later and told me I was an asshole for doing that. She said I was making my ex go into debt for $1,500 and that I should have just let her keep the laptop.

I told her that her daughter was the one who decided to not return something that didn't belong to her and she didn't have to pay me $1,500. All she had to do was give me the Mac back and it would all be over with.

Ngl, her mom calling me really pissed me off. I said that her daughter signed a legal contract and she couldn't just break it. She told me that her daughter didn't have any way to pay for it and I said I wasn't her debt collector. I wasn't going to pay her debt for her and that maybe she should have thought of that before she decided she didn't have to follow the contract.

So now her whole family is calling me an asshole for what I did. My dad thinks they are all being ridiculous but my mom wants me to consider letting it go.

Before people suggest it, there is no chance we are going to get back together. She told me she is too good for me and that I'm immature and didn't handle the breakup correctly. And quite frankly I don't want her back at this point anyway.

AITA?
