About 2 minutes ago, I'm seriously still shaking as I type this. A dog got into my backyard where I had the rabbit and guinea pig enclosures. It was a few days old puppy, a puppy, but it was big enough and strong enough to wipe out a few of my friends. Sadly I didn't get there to save most of them in time. I managed to rescue one of the rabbits but I ended up having to let her go because she was badly injured. I had 2 baby rabbits that I've raised for the past 2 months and now they are gone. They were extremely rare and I wasn't sure if their breed still existed. I managed to rescue one of my guinea pigs and her daughter. Unfortunately the other 3 were killed instantly.

It's too bad, I don't hate the dog or even want the dog to die, it's just an animal. What I do hate are the people who let their dogs roam free. We've been having this issue for years, a few neighbors have multiple large dogs that they don't even keep in their yards. They let them roam around freely, and I've warned them countless times that I have animals in my backyard that they might attack. This is the first time it happened to me but it's the first time I've seen such a large dog roam free and so close to my house.

I don't have much money, and I'm still in school, and I still live with my parents, so I don't have the means to protect myself or my animals. I feel so bad for them. I had to watch a dog kill one of my rabbits by crushing her skull and I still haven't processed it. I don't know how I'll be able to sleep tonight, I feel so terrible, even though it wasn't my fault. I'm just mad that I didn't get to save them and that I had to see them die.
