Avoid personal relationships with coworkers

As an elder ~40 yr veteran educator, I have to put my 2 cents in.<br><br>Avoid personal relationships with coworkers. While friendships may develop, be very guarded. Some coworkers are gossips, some are manipulators and get in your business, some are jealous, etc. There’s no need really because everyone is too busy all the time. This is a job. Stay professional. Some departments are like a group of little girls. A lot of drama.<br><br>This may sound harsh but it’s reality. It’s good to get in with a clique, but don’t think you’ll be automatically included because you put your coworkers on your social media, peek at their phones when they flash personal texts, peek at other’s social media, etc. Stay busy and focused on your job. There’s always someone who wants to bring you down. Stay personal and peek at other’s social media.
