Scott Pilgrim vs The World is unappreciated because of the title and is actually about Scott Pilgrim being a dick.

First off, let me just say that the movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010) is an absolutely brilliant movie and I encourage everyone to see it if you haven't already, I think that it has been grossly under appreciated because of the title which implies that Scott Pilgrim is the hero and that he is forced into fighting the seven evil boyfriends.<br><br>In reality Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is the villain and you will realize this after watching the movie a second time.<br><br>Scott is dating a high school girl (17) named Knives Chau (Ellen Wong) even though he is 22 years old. When he meets Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) he begins trying to date her even though he is still with Knives. He then proceeds to waste Ramona's time and forces her to play the same "get to know me" game that she has been forced to play with Knives and her other boyfriend which is why she has the 7 evil boyfriends in the first place.<br><br>Even though Scott is still with Knives he goes on a date with Ramona then decides to dump Knives and go after Ramona again, it is only after he loses a battle/ fight to one of Ramona's boyfriends Gideon Graves (Jason Schwartzman) and Ramona goes back to Gideon that Scott realizes what a dick he has been.<br><br>Scott then goes to visit his ex in order to realize why he is such a dick, it is only after going through this that Scott is able to defeat Gideon and get Ramona, Scott Pilgrim vs the World is about Scott's journey from being a dick to becoming self aware.<br><br>The second half of the movie proves this by making Ramona the main character, proving that she is just as flawed and shitty as Scott is, the final fight proves Scott's growth because this time instead of fighting Gideon just for Ramona, he does it only because Gideon is an asshole and he (Scott) is fed up with it.<br><br>In conclusion, the title of the movie is very misleading and does not accurately represent Scott's character and it is only by watching the movie that you can realize that Scott is the real bad guy and that he grows as a character.<br><br> TL;DR: Scott Pilgrim is the bad guy, he is just as flaws as everyone else and it is only by watching the movie that you can realize how flawed and shitty Scott is.
