What is the origin of the "KYS" meme?

I'll use a quote from a friend of mine to start this off: "I think it's funny how everyone is mad at 4chan for what a couple of people did online and in real life, but the real problem lies in yourself. You can't look at the internet and think that it is a good idea to say "KYS" to a guy that is wearing a suicide bomb with no regrets."<br>I'm sure if he's talking about it, then a lot of people are confused as to the origin of this meme. I am a frequent lurker of /pol/ myself. But I'm going to sound like many of the threads asking "Where did this meme come from?" "I thought it was a 4chan thing..." and if I do, I'm sorry. I just want to know where this meme originated from and in what thread, if at all. I'm not lazy enough to not look into the matter myself, but I'm hoping a thread on /4chan/ will be more helpful as there is also a good chance that about half of the folks who use this meme are probably on /c/4chan as well. If anyone knows where this meme originated from and in what thread, please let me know. Thanks.
