Please don't cockily walk into Costco without checking prices first. They aren't always the best deal.

I'm currently working in the heart of one of the cities with the most millionaires in the world. There's a Costco nearby and all the wealthy people love to talk up Costco. I hear so many claims like that Costco is the best place to buy this, or the only place I can buy that. Or how everything is so cheap there "because of economy of scale." I got curious and decided to check prices because I know cocky claims like that usually have a flaw. I checked the prices of most common groceries and household items and it turns out the prices at Walmart were the same or cheaper nearly 100%. It seems the only time Costco is actually cheaper is when they are one of their Kirkland Signature brands. I've been to Costco myself but only to eat their food because it was the best fast food for the price.

I'm sure there are certain items that you can't buy at Walmart for one reason or another, but at least in this area, the prices are only worth it if you're buying in bulk and using the item before it expires.

PS: This is all for online prices, I haven't gone to the actual stores themselves.
