Ex-student’s new post on Instagram has me very confused

I had a senior last year, let’s call him John, who was very sweet. Always participated, always listened, very respectful, etc. when he graduated, I was a little sad. We aren’t close, but I always am a little sad when students move on.<br><br>Anyway, he posted on his Instagram story today and tagged me in it. It was a picture of him from graduation day. The caption was: “it’s been almost 3 months since I graduated, and I still miss it”. Cool. Understandable. Then he made ANOTHER story, which also tagged me, and said: “teachers: don’t cry about how much you miss your old students when you literally ugly cried during my graduation speech and then proceeded to hug every student and staff member at the school. stop pretending like we didn’t bond when we TOTALLY DID. stop creeping on my insta stories pretending like you don’t do it. stop this. [love emoji ] you all”<br><br>???? I did none of that! I did not cry! I looked at him confused and the principal nodded at me to go give him a hug. When he was talking I was mouthing along with his speech! I watched him come back the first day of school this year to show off his senior drum major sash to the band. <br><br>I don’t know what to do lol. I don’t want to embarrass him or ruin whatever fantasy he has in his head, but damn! I didn’t even give him a hug on graduation day. I literally do not know what to do. Help!
