My daughter has been haunted by a creepy imposter ever since she was nine. Alice has never liked having her hair brushed. The sound it makes still sends shivers down her spine. Now, at twenty-six, she refuses to have girls' nights or trips to the salon, fearful of the hair stylist's scissors and clippers. Her hair falls to her waist, always neatly tied up, and she handles it all on her own.

The strange events began the day her school bus crashed into an oak tree. Frightened and disoriented, Alice wandered through the forest, calling for her parents. A woman with long, dark hair and kind eyes appeared, offering to help her find her way home. Alice hesitated, but the woman's warmth put her at ease.

As they walked, the woman began to tell Alice a story. She had once known a man who loved her more than anything in the world. He was her only love, and his death had left her heartbroken and alone. She wanted to forget him and the pain of his loss. But her long hair, filled with memories of him, held her back. She couldn't let go of those memories, and so she couldn't let go of her hair. In the end, she cut her hair in the forest, a sign of her moving on and finding peace.

Intrigued, Alice asked to see her hair. The woman hesitated, then showed it to her. The hair was long and dark, unlike Alice's, which was blond. But what caught her attention was a peculiar haircut – one side was longer than the other. After thanking the woman and continuing on her way, Alice found herself lost again. Crying, she called for her mom, but it was the woman who reappeared. She hugged Alice and promised to never let her go.

Alice awoke to find herself in the hospital, her mother by her side. The bus accident had left her unconscious, but she had no memory of it. Instead, she remembered the woman in the forest, a mysterious figure with an unusual haircut. From that day on, Alice avoided anyone with long hair, fearing the woman's presence. Her parents thought it was a phase, but they grew concerned when Alice became withdrawn and isolated, no longer the cheerful child they once knew.

Years passed, and Alice learned to cope with her fear. She found solace in her friends and family, who helped her overcome her phobia. But the memory of the woman in the woods never faded. Even now, at twenty-six, Alice remains wary of people with long hair, always checking their haircuts, searching for that asymmetrical style that haunts her.

On occasion, Alice wonders what happened to the woman, if she ever found peace. Or if she still wanders the forest, her long hair a reminder of her lost love. She hopes the woman found solace, but deep down, she fears that the woman never moved on, that she remains trapped in the forest, forever reliving the memories of her past.
