My kitten and her baby are cancer free

Oh happy day! I took my lovely 7 month old kitten to the vet 3 weeks ago thinking that a broken leg had been overlooked, only to be told that it was a tumour in her arm. If it were a rapid growth, it was quite possible that it could be removed and the bone repaired, if it were a slow growth it would mean amputation. The vet said that she could survive without an arm, but that it would cause her a lot of pain so she was sent to a specialist.

When she finally got a CT scan, they were able to see the full extent of the tumour. It was all through her arm and shoulder, and would have to be removed. The vet did have a slightly muted tone with me when he described the tumour 'it's in a vulnerable position and the consequences of an operation could be dire, but if she doesn't get the operation she will die a rapid and terrible death' and then told me that it could also be in her brain and lungs. So we had to do an MRI of her entire body.

A week of awful waiting, and we finally got the news that the tumour is completely localised, and there are no other problems! So the amputation is scheduled for next week, and hopefully kitten and baby kitten will be safely home from the vet.
