The cult of Mao sure has been eerily silent about Taiwan recently.

In the past, they were constantly calling Taiwan a colony and saying it needed to be reunited with China, even by force if necessary. Lately though, they've mostly been defending China's decision to kill hundreds of Taiwanese fishermen and its unprecedented aggression towards Taiwan. Clearly they're being eaten alive by the cognitive dissonance of being caught between their loyalty to China and their love of violence, so they're trying to pretend to be neutral-ish.<br><br>China is a brutal imperialist power, the cult knows it, but they aren't going to say shit about it. Same thing about their views on the Uyghur genocide, sure the Chinese government is committing atrocities, but it's a 'socialist' government.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: Taiwan is now a republic, they don't have a colonial government, and they had a revolution, they didn't get decolonized. You don't have to agree with the government or support it, but you do have to give them credit for completely destroying the previous colonial government, something that China didn't even do.
