What kind of war would a merfolk empire experience?

So with this question I want to look at what kind of war a merfolk empire would experience. To illustrate this I will be using my own Twilight realm setting as an example, but I encourage you all to do the same in the comments. <br>In order to determine how wars would be fought in the Twilight realm we have to look at the available factors which influence war. These are: <br>-Climate <br>-Environment <br>-Enemies <br>-Resources <br>-Culture <br>-Technology <br><br>The Twilight Realm has 2 climates. The first is the cold waters of the North. These waters are very cold and the war strategy here would be to increase the difficulty of war for your enemy. The Twilight realm could use this to its advantage by merely outlasting its enemies. The second climate is the shallow waters of the South. These waters are warm and more perfect for a war of rapid conquest.<br><br>The environment is calm. There are no big threats like sea monsters or big storms, which means that it's easier and cheaper to wage war as you don't need to protect the entire nation. <br><br>The Twilight Realm has 4 enemies: The Twilight Coast, the Dwarven Clans, the lush jungle continent of the south and the Dragon Empire. This means that the Twilight realm will have to resist invasions from multiple enemies. This makes it difficult to create an army which has to be able to resist a big amount of enemies and makes it more expensive. <br><br>Resources: The Twilight Realm is highly resourceful. It's not going to run out of enemies or resources. This means that it can wage a long war if needed. <br><br>Culture: The Twilight Realm has a very twisted and sinister culture. War is very much a part of everyday life. So wars would be brutal and bloody. The Twilight realm has very little mercy and will always try to outdo its enemies in brutality. This means that wars will be very brutal and bloody. <br><br>Technology: The Twilight realm has more access to more advanced technology than most of its enemies. This means it has a technological advantage which it can use. <br><br>So how would war be in the Twilight Realm. Twilight Realm wars would be brutal wars of Conquest. It would try to outlast its enemies in the north and quickly conquer the south. It would use its great navy to attack the Twilight Coast and the Clans. The wars would be long and bloody and would require a lot of resources. But I think the Twilight Realm would be able to handle that. So how would a merfolk war look like in your project?
