My daughters first crush

My daughter is 9 years old (5th grade) and she confided in me that she has a crush on her friend. I know it's completely normal for many kids to develop crushes at this age, but this is my baby. It feels like just a few months ago she was playing with dolls and stuffed animals.<br><br>This is the first time she felt comfortable enough to talk to me about her feelings. I encouraged her to express herself to her friend, but reminded her to be respectful and considerate of others' emotions.<br><br>I'm not sure if she'll ever get to the point of hearing a boy tell her he is into her, but a mom can dream. I just want her to be happy and feel confident in expressing herself. I'll continue to support her and provide guidance as she navigates these new emotions.
