I’ve noticed a stark increase in videos about AI, and articles about AI, over the past few weeks. As though a switch has been flipped. I don’t understand what’s happening.

I’ve been having a growing sense of unease lately about what’s going on in the world. I feel like we’re in the offing of a huge change that I don’t fully understand. I’m not sure where to go with this, so I’m just going to bullet point my observations, and my confusion.

I’ve been seeing way more articles and videos about AI than I used to, and it seems like the volume of this content, including the traditional media, is sharply increasing. Why? AI is not a new technology. Is it a switch that’s been flipped? It seems like it.

Recently I was on Netflix, and there were about 15 recommendations for me - all of them were about AI. Why would this be the case? I’m not interested, nor have I ever expressed any interest in this topic. I don’t get it.

I feel like I’m being conditioned to accept AI en masse, but why? Is this a societal shift? Is everyone supposed to get familiar with AI, andChatGPT, and accept the inevitable takeover of humanity by the machines?

All of this is being done under the guise of ‘progress’ I believe, but I don’t want AI in my daily life. I don’t want to have AI assistants, or communicate with customer service AI’s. I don’t want to live in a world like this. I want humans.

I guess I just want to know what’s going on. It doesn’t feel right.
