I posted a short story on the sub, and the first critique I got back made me cry. I'm not sure how to handle it. I've never had a critique on my writing before, and I've never posted writing for anyone to see except myself. I'm not sure how to open up and share this part of myself with others.

I know criticism is a part of the writing process. I know I need to hear it. I know I can learn from it. I just don't know how to open myself up to it. How do I do that? How do I stop shying away from feedback and start embracing it? Any tips on how to navigate a writing critique would be helpful.

TL;DR: How do I handle a writing critique without feeling like my soul has been attacked?
