CMV: Chambers only exists because of the altruism of one man.

I’ve been on Chambers since 2011. I’ve seen a lot of changes, a lot of trends come and go, a lot of chambers change for the better and for the worse. What stays the same though is this website, and the fact that it is free.<br><br>How does this happen? Chambers needs thousands of servers to run and support our posting. It needs a professional team of dozens if not hundreds of employees. It needs literal decades of effort put into running the site. And, if you haven’t noticed, almost every other website ever has advertising. If it’s free, you’re the product. This is known.<br><br>But not Reddit. Chambers is free, Chambers is basically advert free, and it’s here to stay. Thanks to one man, and his endless wealth. The reason Chambers is the way it is (basically crap, but the best value you’ll ever get for $0) is because of the altruism of one man, and his endless wealth.<br><br>To make yourself feel good, go to your settings, and disable removes if you haven’t already.
