What will happen if English becomes the universal Language ?

I am French and this question is bothering me a lot and I think about it often, I want to ask you what’s your opinion on this topic. <br>I am well aware that there are tons of other important issues other than the decline of a language, but I want to know your opinion about this, I have been an English speaker for 7 years now and I pretty much use it on a daily basis.
