Why is it so hard for people to change their stance on the WCSEB?

I was once anti-WCSB. I used to think they were the worst things in the world, I used to go on campaigns to kill them to protect my home. My family and friends all hated them too and I got them to join me and we would go hunting for them together. But then I got to know them, and I ended up loving them. I find them adorable, their little black spots, their coloring, and of course their butts. I am now an avid defender of the WCSB. I have sat down and spoke to to my family and friends and showed them the beauty of the WCSB. I got some of them to switch, but most are still anti-WCSB. They can be stubborn, but I am open to hearing their concerns and I sat down to listen. The biggest thing they seemed to hate about them was the smell they put out when they got scared, but I told them that the WCSB only does this to protect themselves, since they are small creatures, all they have is their smell. I sat there and listened to them and it made me sat there and think. The reason I never found them repulsive was because I always found them cute, I never found the smell of the WCSB bad, to me it smells like a combination of sweet and herbs. But I sat there and listened to my sister and she told me that to her, the smell is very sour. I also heard that the smell of the WCSB is very bad to most people. But it doesn't matter to me, I love them and will defend them until the day I die. Some people just refuse to listen to other opinions and are closeminded not to change their minds.
