Hey Americans, what cities in the US would you recommend as a “European” experience?

I’m European, and I have the opportunity to visit the US in a few months. I’m not really sure where to go, so I thought I’d ask you, the nice people of Reddit.<br><br>I will be visiting the East Coast, likely Massachusetts and New York, but I’m open to suggestions. I know that NYC is obviously not very European, but that’s a given considering it’s an American city.<br><br>What I’m looking for is cities that have a somewhat European feel to them, whether it be historic, architecture, vibe, whatever. Places that, in a sense, remind me of home.<br><br>I’m really looking forward to visiting, as it’s my first time in the US and I don’t know when I’ll have the chance to go back, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!<br><br>TIA<br><br>EDIT: thanks so much for all the recommendations, really excited for my trip!
