If I hear another woman say “you do you, girl” or “let women do what they want to do with their bodies” and not follow it with “as long as you’re not harming anyone or yourself” or “as long as that doesn’t mean harming and exploiting others”, I’m going to scream

I am tired of women saying “if you want to be a stay at home mom, you do you girl, that’s amazing” and “if you want to be a sex worker, you do you girl, you’re so empowered”. Being a housewife and being a sex worker ARE NOT EMPPOWERING, THEY HAVE BEEN HISTORICALLY SEEN AS WOMEN’S WORK AND ARE SEEN AS THE ONLY OPTIONS FOR WOMEN. THE PATRIARCHY WANTS US TO BE STUCK IN THOSE ROLES, BECAUSE IT BENEFITS MEN.<br><br>We should want to help other women be better than that. We should encourage other women to shoot for the stars, to be CEOs, to be politicians, to be anything other than what the patriarchy is funneling us into.<br><br>You can make your own choices, yes. But that also means choosing not to settle for the options laid out for you. Stand up for yourself and others! Get women into positions of power, instead of splitting a piece of the tiny, rotten patriarchal pie that was given to us!!
