Initially, I wrote a very long post with our whole backstory but before posting it, I deleted the entire thing. It didn’t really matter how we got here but here we are. He asked for open marriage after 20 years of happy marriage because he wasn’t attracted to me anymore even though he still loved me. Maybe it was midlife crisis? but he was panicking about not have been with another woman his entire life. I left him and asked for divorce. The separation devastated us mentally and financially. My children suffered the most and started hating me for leaving and breaking their happy home. When we got back together, I agreed to open marriage but I didn’t want to know details. Everything was great (according to him anyway). <br><br>Around new years, he was out of town and I hooked up with a guy. It was a casual hookup and I didn’t expect to see him again. But we started talking and realized that we had so much in common. It’s been 8 months since our first hookup and we have been meeting regularly. I feel wanted, desired and loved. I know that this won’t last and I will eventually be dumped for a younger woman but I am enjoying it while it lasts. <br><br>Last week, I had lunch with my husband and mentioned my new friend and he got very quiet. I asked what was wrong and he said that he didn’t expect any man to want a 42 year old woman. I was devastated but thank god I have someone to make me feel desired.<br><br>Edit: 1. We are divorced and only living together for the kids. It was a financial decision and I couldn’t afford to move out. <br><br>2. I know he is sleeping with other women. The question was if I wanted to know details and I said no. <br><br>3. We are in Europe, in a German speaking country. Maybe cultural norms play a role but I wasn’t doing anything that most married women of my age weren’t doing. I have some flirts, I hooked up with someone, it wasn’t a big deal for anyone.
