All these shared accounts have me convinced that a major social media purge is coming very soon

I’ve been seeing a fair share of shared accounts on here lately. You all know what I mean, an account that is recommended to you shared by two people, usually a couple days old with just a couple karma. <br><br>The shared accounts are now 2-3 times a day recommended to me. I’ve been on this app for 9 years and never noticed so many shared accounts before. They always have ridiculous names, usually something with gibberish letters except for the one letter that’s “T” or “D”. <br><br>They also have a huge amount of spam comments, usually with whatever brand name the spammer is trying to sell on their website right in the comment body. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve looked at a few and it is actually pretty funny. They always have a bunch of spam comments on their own posts about different products. <br><br>There is no way in hell these new accounts that literally have 5 karma are getting recommended. I could be wrong, but my guess is they are either AI or bots just here to collect as much information as possible. I feel like they’re a test to see how well AI can blend in with real people and gain trust. <br><br>I think Chambers is going to remove the possibility of having a throwaway account, and instead you’ll need some sort of verified account that’s linked to your personal info. They’ll probably say it’s to stop bots and AI on here, but in reality they just want to gather more info on you. <br><br>That’s why I always have a fresh throwaway at the ready.
