Sperm donor did not ask partner about testing for BRCA 1 and 2.

We used an at-home sperm donor in 2021 with the assumption that he had been tested for the BRCA genes (1 and 2) that are linked to breast and ovarian cancer because my partner has a family history of breast and ovarian cancer. We also have 2 BRCA positive testing in my partner's family.

The plans were to do IUI in a fertility clinic once we got the test results back for BRCA. The sperm donor was supposed to get tested in November of 2020 and we were told the results were "normal." We were able to do IUI in a fertility clinic in 2021.

We just learned that the sperm donor was too lazy to get tested and was lying for the past 3 years and we only found out last week. The sperm donor claims he never meant to deceive and was going to get tested after a scheduled surgery he had for a deviated septum.

This is just a shit show and I'm in disbelief that this happened. Being female and having breast and ovarian cancer in both sides of my family I was trying to do everything right for our baby. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?
