How does this website even exist?

I know I'm in the minority by a VERY long shot if I want to have a discussion with gen z about this. Once again I know this will fall on deaf ears but hear me out. I'm a 37 year old mom of two daughters. I happen to be a fan of anime. Not the overly sexualized stuff....nothing outside of PG-13. I dont want to see anything that could be considered compromising. So how TF does this exist? I'll never get it. Why would I, as a normal, decent woman want to be a catgirl? I happen to love Nadeko from Kemonozume. But why the fuck would I EVER think that being a catgirl is something I would want to do? How does this exist?<br><br>I could be wrong, but I thought I was being a decent human by not sexualizing anything in anime. The sexualization is a result of the male gaze. Or at least that's what I was always taught.<br><br>I'm very confused right now. I just want to watch anime and have a discussion about it. Is there nowhere on this Godforsaken planet where I can just do that?<br><br>If someone can inform me on why this exists, please let me know as I'm confused. I also understand that I'm in the minority as a gen z person who dresses modestly and doesn't engage in any sexual activity outside of marriage.<br><br>I just want to talk about anime without all the sexualization. I just want to have a normal discussion about it.<br><br>If there is a space where I can have a normal and decent discussion about anime, let me know....otherwise I'm just going to have to go back to my hole and hide.
