What's the story behind the disappearance of the Sodder family children

On Christmas Eve 1945, the Sodder family home was destroyed by a fire. 5 of the 9 children were missing after the fire, with no remains ever recovered. It is alleged that several sightings of the missing children were made, particularly in New York in the 60's, but nothing was ever proven. It is also suggested that the missing children were taken in relation to the father, George Sodders, outspoken politics.<br><br>I'm particularly interested in this story because there have been two previous threads on this topic this week. Unfortunately, neither of them were really helpful. Hopefully a third time's the charm.
